To the Community – A Message from Charlotte Kinney, Kinney Cares Daycare ❤️

Dear Star Community,

Thirty-six years ago, I opened Kinney Cares Daycare with a simple dream: to create a safe, loving, and nurturing place where children could learn, grow, and feel at home. As I reflect on this journey today, my heart overflows with gratitude for the countless children, families, and friendships that have filled these years with meaning and joy.

After much reflection—and with a very full and tender heart—I have made the difficult decision to retire and close Kinney Cares Daycare.

For 39 years, Star has not only been the place where I built my daycare, but the place my family has called home. It is where we raised our three beautiful children and have been blessed to watch our family grow with five amazing grandchildren. This community has been woven into every part of our lives and has given us more than we ever could have imagined.

It has been one of the greatest honors of my life to care for the children of this community. I have been blessed to watch so many little ones grow into adults—and, in some of the most special moments, return with children of their own. Those full-circle memories are treasures I will hold in my heart forever.

Saying goodbye is not easy, because this has never just been a job—it has been my life’s work, my passion, and truly a labor of love. Each child and each family has left a lasting imprint on my heart.

Kinney Cares Daycare will close its doors on Friday, May 29, 2026.

Thank you, Star, for trusting me, supporting me, and allowing me to be part of your lives for so many years. The memories we have shared will stay with me always, and I will carry this community in my heart wherever this next chapter leads.
